How I felt | Moderate |
Burnt 2,600 Kcal, consumed approx 700 Kcal in Blocks and 220 Kcal in gels. Consume more gels next time! I lost around 2.4lbs throughout the run. My watch consumed around 33%
New PR for marathon. It’s nice to be such a beginner runner where I can simply go out and run and hit new PR’s. This won’t last forever. Garmin says that I can do a marathon in 3hr 20min. BAHAHAHA
It took a while to warm up, even after lots of dynamic stretching. I got into my pace around mile 4. I had a very low HR around mile 6-9 – it was in the warm-up zone and I was hitting a 10 minute mile.
I consumed 4pk Cliff Blocks, two gels, and 4 Nuun tablets. I had to refill my camelback two times during the run. I consumed around 1 gallon of water & electrolyte mix. I felt a little dizzy/weak around miles 9-10 (I think). I took down a gel and a decent amount of water and that helped to resolve the issue. FUEL MORE AND MORE OFTEN.
I started to feel the distance around mile 23/24. The distance is actually a little longer since I forgot to restart my watch after stopping. I probably lost around .75 miles.
Things that made the run better: anti-chaffing cream, Cliff blocks with caffeine, my running vest, and carrying TP on my run. I had a BM around mile 6 (at Wild Heaven Brewing – they open at 7am!) and then was good to go for the rest of the run.
Things to do for my next run: consume more water throughout the run. Increase caloric intake by 30%. Bring more gels and something solid to eat.
I went by big peach running to get gels and blocks for my next run.
I smiled and said “Good Morning” to several people on my run in the AM, on the South West side of the beltline. It felt good.
