2.5 miles to the gym, kept it slow, around 10min/mi. I had some pain in my right hip flexor.
Strength workout: Chest (incline bench, barbell, 3 sets, 8-10 reps 95lbs & 115lbs), dedlifts (3 sets, 10 reps, 135lbs), military press (3 sets, 10 reps, 30lbs), curls (3 sets, 10 reps, 25-30lbs), arm extensions (pull down, 40lbs).
1.73 miles back, slow again.
I’m having pain in my right hip flexor when I run and after the run. I think I need to push off with my feet more instead of simply lifting them forward to reduce the amount that my hip flexor is being used. More research is needed to resolve the issue. Speed/Hill work might help? It definitely feels overused and will be sore for the next several days.
I’m swapping between my Asics Gel-Nimbus 24 shoes and Asics GT-2000. The Gel-Nimbus have a zero-drop whereas the GT’s have an 8mil drop. I still use the GT’s for my long runs and they are working out well. I think I might stick with them for my next pair. I’m not sure what I’ll replace the Gel-Nimbus with. They are comfortable but I think I just need a larger size.
